Gemini Car Prompts: 12 Prompts for Photos of Your Own Car (2026)
Gemini car prompts for rims, paint color, a slammed stance, night and snow scenes, posing with your car, a Tofas Sahin, a scale model, listing photos and covering the plate: 12 prompts, tested in their original Turkish versions. Across 133 requests, a short prompt erased the door dent in 9 of 12 frames. Here is how to keep the plate, the damage and the badge as they are.

- With a bare "modify this car" prompt, Gemini changed the rims in 18 of 18 frames and added its own text, badge or a new plate in 8 frames.
- The short prompt erased the dent on the sedan's door in 9 of 12 frames. Prompt 1, which lists every part to keep, left the dent, the plate and the color in place in 6 of 6 frames.
- When we asked it to "make it look good for a listing", the damage disappeared in 6 of 6 frames; one frame got a screen reading "DUSUK KM, HATASIZ" (low mileage, no damage) and a made-up model year.
- When the scene changed (night, snow), the model recognized the car and put a FIAT badge back on the grille in 3 of 12 frames. With the sentence "the grille is empty, do not add a badge", that dropped to 0 of 12.
- "Blur" is not enough to hide a plate: it was still legible in 5 of 6 frames. Covering it with a solid color worked in 4 of 4 frames on Flash and Pro, and failed on Lite.
Upload a photo of your car to Gemini, type "modify this car", and the plate usually stays put. The rims, the paint and the dent in the door are up to the model. We counted this on November 2, 2026, with 133 requests: the short prompt changed the rims in 18 of 18 frames, erased the sedan's dent in 9 of 12 and added its own text or badge in 8. The 12 Gemini car prompts below were written to fix those numbers, and each one was tried at least 6 times.
We ran the test in the Gemini API with three image models: Nano Banana 2 Lite (what the app uses when the model picker is on Flash-Lite), Nano Banana 2 (when Flash or Pro is selected) and Nano Banana Pro on paid plans. As input we used fictional photos we generated with AI: a white sedan with a dent and a scratch on the driver's door and the plate 34 PNZ 26, a red hatchback, and a bearded man with glasses. We ran every prompt twice on every model. We checked the plate with OCR and by eye, the damage with a door crop taken from the same spot, and the face with OpenCV's SFace model.

| What do you want to do? | Prompt | What held in the test |
|---|---|---|
| New rims and a lower stance, fast | 1 | Plate, dent, color 6/6 |
| Change only the rims | 2 | 5-spoke rims 5/6, text 0/6 |
| Change the color | 3 | Plate and dent 6/6 |
| Slam the car | 4 | Fender gap closed 6/6 |
| Night or snow shot | 5, 6 | Badge 0/12, plate 12/12 |
| Pose with your car | 7 | Face 6/6, plate and door visible 6/6 |
| Used car listing photo | 10 | Dent kept 6/6 |
| Cover the plate before sharing | 11 | 4/4 on Flash and Pro |
12 Ready-Made Gemini Car Prompts (Copy and Paste)
Each prompt works in a single message after you upload the photo. Fill the square brackets with your own car's details: plate, color, where the damage is. If your car has no dent, delete that line. If it has one, describe exactly where it is, because the model often repaired damage we didn't mention. We wrote and tested these prompts in Turkish; the versions below are our English translations.

1) One line: new rims, lower it, leave the rest alone
Fit [matte black 5-spoke 18-inch] rims on the car in this photo and lower the suspension; keep the body color, the plate ("[34 ABC 123]"), [the dent and scratch on the driver's door], the background and the angle exactly as they are, and do not add any logo or text.Paste this instead of "modify this car". In 6 of 6 frames the plate, dent, scratch and color stayed in place, the rims came out as described, and no badge was added to the grille. On the same photo, the short prompt had turned the car blue in one frame and written TIPO on the grille.
2) Rim swap prompt
Change only the rims on the car in this photo: [18]-inch, [matte black], [5]-spoke rims; low-profile tires.
Keep the car's body, color, headlights, mirrors, plate ("[34 ABC 123]"), [the dent and scratch on the driver's door], the background, the lighting and the camera angle exactly as they are.The plate and the damage stayed in 6 of 6 frames, and no frame got text or a badge. The spoke count was right in 5 of 6; in one frame Lite drew a twin-spoke design. If the number matters, pick Flash.
3) Car color change prompt (with a hex code)
Change the body color of the car in this photo to [matte Nardo gray] (hex [#8A8D8F], [flat paint with no gloss]).
Keep the windows, headlights, black plastic trim, rims, plate ("[34 ABC 123]"), [the dent and scratch on the driver's door], the background and the lighting exactly as they are.The color turned gray in 6 of 6 frames, and the plate and wheel covers didn't change. We compared the median color of the shaded side panel with the target hex: the difference (ΔE) was between 12.5 and 13.7 in the Pro frames and between 20 and 22.5 on Lite, which made the color darker and bluish. In one frame Flash made the dent bigger and deeper, so when you describe the damage, it may help to give its size too.
4) Slammed car prompt (lowered stance)
Make the car in this photo slammed: lowered suspension, leave only a finger's width of gap between the top of the tire and the fender edge, and bring the wheels out flush with the fender edge.
Keep the body color, rims, plate ("[34 ABC 123]"), [the dent and scratch on the door], the background and the camera angle exactly as they are. This is the one people are after when they search for a Gemini slammed car prompt. The gap between tire and fender closed in 6 of 6 frames, and even the wheel covers stayed the same. If you want new rims along with the drop, use Prompt 1.
5) Night coastal road in Istanbul prompt
Move the car in this photo, with the same model, the same color and the same rims, into a photo taken at night: wet asphalt after rain, [a coastal road in Istanbul], blurred street lights and bridge lights in the background, the car's reflection on the asphalt. Headlights on.
The center of the front grille is empty, as in the photo: do not add a badge, logo or text.
The plate stays exactly "[34 ABC 123]". [The dent and scratch on the door] stay where they are. The car is shown from a front-left 3/4 angle, in the center of the frame. The first version had no badge sentence. When the scene changed, the model redrew the car from scratch and put a FIAT badge on the grille in 3 of 12 night and snow frames, even though our input had no badge. We added the sentence, and no brand badge showed up in 12 frames. The plate stayed correct in 24 of 24 frames. The prompt only says "bridge lights"; in every night frame the model drew the suspension bridge over the Bosphorus.
6) Snowy forest road prompt
Move the car in this photo, with the same model, the same color and the same rims, to a snowy forest road: the snow has just stopped, a thin layer of snow on the roof and hood, snow-covered pine trees along the road, clear blue sky, morning sun.
The center of the front grille is empty, as in the photo: do not add a badge, logo or text.
The plate stays exactly "[34 ABC 123]". [The dent and scratch on the door] stay where they are. The car is shown from a front-left 3/4 angle. For winter posts. In 6 of 6 frames there was snow on the roof and hood, the plate was legible, and no badge appeared on the grille. The damage stayed visible in most frames, though the brightness of the snow washed it out a little.
7) Photo with my car prompt (two photos)
Show the person in the first photo next to the car in the second photo, in one realistic photo.
The person stands at the same distance from the camera as the car, just to the left of the car's front-left wheel (from the viewer's side), arms crossed over the chest, looking at the camera. The person's shoulder is level with the car's roof, and the head is above the roof.
The person does not block the plate, the headlight or the driver's door.
Keep the person's face, [glasses, beard, scar on the eyebrow] and clothes as in the first photo.
Keep the car, its plate ("[34 ABC 123]"), [the dent and scratch on the door] and the background as in the second photo; do not add a badge to the grille. Daylight comes from the same direction in both.In the first version we had written "in front of the fender" and "a head taller than the roof". In 3 of 6 frames the model put the person right up against the camera, so the person looked bigger than the car and blocked the door. Once we wrote the distance as "at the same distance from the camera" and the height as shoulder level, the plate and door stayed clear in all 6 frames, and the person stood in the requested spot in 5. Face similarity passed the threshold in all 6 frames (SFace 0.62 to 0.81).
8) Tofas Sahin mod prompt (90s, no photo needed)
A photo that looks like it was taken in 1990s Turkey: a [white] Tofas Sahin, lightly modified ([lowered, black steel wheels]).
Parked [on a cobblestone street in an Anatolian town], front 3/4 angle, afternoon sun.
The plate is there, but it has no letters or numbers on it, plain white.
No other text, signs or logos in the photo. This one works without uploading a photo. The model knows the Tofas Sahin: in 6 of 6 frames it drew the quad headlights, the black bumper and the boxy body, and the plate stayed blank in all 6. In one frame Flash drew the car from behind and put the lettering SAHIN (the car's model name) on the trunk, so we changed "side 3/4" from the first version to "front 3/4". We did not test that version separately. For a Dogan, Kartal or Murat 124, change only the model name; we did not test those separately either.
9) Car scale model prompt (1/64)
Make a 1/64 scale die-cast model of the car in this photo: the model sits on a wooden workbench, and the car's color and rims are on the model too. Do not add a badge to the grille.
Behind the model stands its opened cardboard box; the front of the box carries only this text: "[PNZ GARAJ 1:64]".
No other text, logo or barcode on the box or on the model's base.
Soft daylight, the model in sharp focus, the background blurred. This is the answer to "how do I turn my car into a scale model in Gemini". The box text came out letter for letter in 6 of 6 frames, and no other text was added to the box. In two frames Flash put a red badge on the model's grille. That is why we added the badge sentence, and we also removed the damage line (on the model, the dent turned into an exaggerated scratch in one frame). We did not test this final version separately. In two frames Pro removed the model's plate entirely. If you want a human figure too, see our 3D figure prompts.
10) Used car listing photo prompt (damage stays visible)
Edit this photo for a used car listing, and change only the lighting and the background: background [a plain light gray studio wall and a concrete floor], soft, even light.
Do not touch the car itself: [the dent and white scratch on the driver's door] must stay visible as they are, the same size and in the same place; keep the paint, rims, tires, plate ("[34 ABC 123]") and angle exactly as they are.The dent and scratch stayed in the same place in 6 of 6 frames, no badge appeared on the grille, and the plate didn't change. Why so long? The short prompt erased the damage in 6 of 6 frames; details in the next section.
11) Cover the license plate prompt
In this photo, completely cover all the letters and numbers on the license plate with a flat light gray color; leave no trace, shadow or blurred version of the text.
Keep the plate's black frame and the blue strip on the left, and do not write any new letters or numbers.
Do not change anything else in the photo. On Flash and Pro the text was fully gone in 4 of 4 frames, and the frame and blue strip stayed in place. In two frames Lite covered only the right half of the plate, and "34 PN" was still readable. Use this prompt with Flash or Pro selected, and zoom in to check the result before you share it.
12) Imaginary concept car in a studio prompt
Product photo shot in a studio: an imaginary [electric concept coupe], front-left 3/4 angle.
Design: [a one-piece dark smoked glass cabin, a thin single light bar running from the tip of the hood out to both sides, angular hexagonal wheel arches, no door handles, vertical slats on the rear window]. Body [matte anthracite].
A plain dark gray backdrop out to the edges and a glossy black floor, the car's reflection on the floor, soft strip light from above.
No logo or text on the grille, hood, rims or rear; the license plate holder is empty. 16:9 landscape frame. In the first version we didn't describe the design and wrote "looks like no real brand" instead. No logo appeared, but 6 of 6 frames looked like a familiar sports car, and three of them resembled an Aston Martin. Once we described the body part by part, none of the 6 frames looked like a model we recognized, and the light bar came out in all 6.
In one Lite attempt we got back only a line of text saying it had made the requested edit, with no image. If that happens, send the same message once more. If a badge or text shows up, add "The grille is empty, do not add a badge or text" to the end of the prompt. If the plate changed, write the plate in quotation marks, character for character.
How to Modify a Car Photo in Gemini: 5 Steps
- Shoot the car in daylight, from a 3/4 angle, with the plate visible; get the grille, the rims and the door in the frame.
- Open a new chat in Gemini and upload the photo. If the model picker is on Flash-Lite, switch to Flash: Lite made more mistakes covering plates and counting spokes.
- Paste one of the prompts from this article and fill the square brackets with your own plate, color and the spot where the damage is.
- Zoom in on the result and compare the plate, the grille and the damage with your original photo.
- If something changed, fix it in the same chat with one sentence: "Remove the badge on the grille and keep everything else the same."
A short prompt leaves every decision to the model. Across 18 frames the rims changed 18 times, the color changed in 4 frames, and in one frame the plate became MOD-2024. Brand lettering appeared on the hatchback's door. Write out what should change and what should stay, separately.
What Did the Short Prompt Do? The Numbers From 133 Requests
We gave the same sedan photo three short prompts, then the final versions of the prompts in this article. Each row in the table is 6 frames, two each on Lite, Flash and Pro.
| Prompt | Same plate | Dent kept | Made-up text, badge | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| "Modify this car" (in Turkish) | 6/6 | 2/6 | 4/6 | TIPO in one frame, sponsor decals in another |
| "Modify this car" (in English) | 5/6 | 1/6 | 4/6 | Plate MOD-2024, FIAT/Tipo in two frames |
| "Make it look good for a listing" (in Turkish) | 6/6 | 0/6 | 5/6 | FIAT badge in 3 frames, made-up text in 3 |
| Prompt 1 | 6/6 | 6/6 | 0/6 | Rims and ride height changed |
| Prompt 10 | 6/6 | 6/6 | 0/6 | Only backdrop and lighting changed |
We saw the same thing while making the input photo. We generated the white sedan 4 times with Gemini 3 Pro Image after telling it "no brand logo"; 3 of them had a real brand badge on the grille, and all three were the fleet sedans you see everywhere in Turkey. When the model recognizes a car, it knows the brand too, and unless you say otherwise it may put the badge back. While editing the red hatchback, the model named the car and its age in its reply without being asked.
Why Does the Dent Disappear in a Used Car Listing Photo?

The prompt "make this car's photo look good for a used car listing" erased the dent and scratch on the door in 6 of 6 frames. Lite said so plainly in its reply (our translation): "I fixed the dent on the car's side door and made the paint smooth." In one frame Flash moved the car into a showroom, put a screen next to it reading "DUSUK KM, HATASIZ" (low mileage, no damage) in garbled letters, and placed a plaque on the floor reading "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FIAT EGEA LOUNGE 2021". We had not given it the model, the trim level or the year. In another frame it wrote "GUVENILIR ILAN" (trustworthy listing) on the plate frame.
If you post a listing with a photo where the damage has been erased, the buyer will spot the dent the moment they come to see the car, and so will the inspection. If you want a nicer photo, change only the backdrop and the lighting as in Prompt 10, and leave the car itself alone. Every image Gemini makes also carries an invisible watermark called SynthID, so it can be detected later that the image was edited with AI.
Hiding the License Plate: Blurring Isn't Enough

We tried three prompts. "Hide the plate" made the plate unreadable in 5 of 6 frames, but in two frames it also erased the blue strip and the frame, and in one frame it didn't touch the plate at all. "Blur the letters and numbers until they can't be read" left a readable plate in 5 of 6 frames: the model applied a light blur, and 34 PNZ 26 was still legible. The solid-color cover in Prompt 11 worked in 4 of 4 frames on Flash and Pro.
Why cover the plate at all? In its decision 2023/924, Turkey's Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK) wrote that a plate number can be used to query the authorities and reach the owner:
It is common knowledge that, through a query made to the competent authorities using a vehicle's license plate, it is possible to obtain information about the vehicle's owner.
Covering the plate in a photo is allowed. Making the real plate on the car unreadable gets you fined. Under Article 23 of Turkey's Highway Traffic Law (KTK), a driver who knowingly causes the registration plate to be misread or to be unreadable faces an administrative fine of 140,000 TL under the text as amended by Law No. 7574 on February 12, 2026, and the vehicle is taken off the road for 30 days.
If You Actually Modify the Car: Article 32 of Turkey's Traffic Law
If you like the slammed, black-rimmed version in Gemini and plan to have the real car changed, the law asks for one step. Under Article 32 of Turkey's Highway Traffic Law, every change made in line with the regulations must be recorded on the vehicle registration certificate within 30 days; a registered keeper who doesn't do this faces an administrative fine of 1,000 TL. Changes that break the regulations are banned: the keeper who makes them is fined 5,000 TL, and the vehicle is taken off the road until it is brought back into compliance. If the change makes enough noise to disturb people nearby, the driver pays another 16,000 TL. The amounts come from the text as amended by Law No. 7574 on February 12, 2026; under Additional Article 3 of the law, they go up at the start of every calendar year by the revaluation rate.
The image won't tell you which parts need approval. Take the frame you made to a mechanic as an idea, and learn the modification and inspection process from them.
Which Gemini Model? Flash-Lite, Flash or Pro
| Selected in the app | Image model | Median time | Watch out for (from the test) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flash-Lite | Nano Banana 2 Lite | 4.7 s | Covered half the plate, got the spoke design wrong once, returned text instead of an image once |
| Flash or Pro | Nano Banana 2 | 9.5 s | Most prone to adding badges and text; 0 with the badge sentence |
| Pro, Redo on a paid plan | Nano Banana Pro | 17 s | Got closest to the target color, removed the scale model's plate |
Optimized for speed. Ideal for quickly creating images and generating basic ideas. Not designed for multiple image references or multiple edits.
According to Google's help page, on an account without a plan, images are made with Nano Banana 2 Lite when the model picker is on Flash-Lite and with Nano Banana 2 when it is on Flash or Pro; Nano Banana Pro is available only on Google AI plans, through the "Redo" option. Downloads are 1K without a plan and 2K with one. You have to be 18 or older to generate and edit images. Lite also merged the two photos in Prompt 7, but keep in mind the times were measured in the API; in the app they vary with the queue.
Common Mistakes With Car Prompts
- Leaving out the damage. The model often removes a dent or scratch you don't mention, and in a listing photo that is misleading.
- Writing the plate without quotation marks. A plate written in quotes stayed correct in 24 of 24 frames where the scene changed; the short prompt turned the plate into MOD-2024 in one frame.
- Changing the scene and forgetting the grille. If the model recognizes the car, it may put the brand's badge back.
- Writing "no brand" without describing the design. The studio coupe looked like a familiar sports car in 6 of 6 frames.
- Hiding the plate with "blur". With a light blur the characters stay legible; cover them with a solid color.
- Putting the person "in front of" the car. The model moves the person toward the camera and they block the car; write that they stand beside it, at the same distance.
Yes, you can upload and edit a photo in Gemini with a free Google account. Without a plan, downloads are 1K; regenerating with Nano Banana Pro is available on paid plans. You need to be 18 or older to generate images.
Upload a photo of your car taken from a 3/4 angle to Gemini, fill in Prompt 1 with your own plate and damage, and paste it. In our test the rims and ride height changed, while the plate, color and dent stayed in place in 6 of 6 frames.
Prompt 4. It asks for a finger's width of gap between tire and fender and for the wheels to sit flush with the fenders; in our test the gap closed in 6 of 6 frames.
Upload a photo of your car and paste Prompt 9. Put the box text in quotation marks; in our test the box text came out letter for letter in 6 of 6 frames.
The prompts are plain text, so you can paste them into ChatGPT too. Every number in this article was measured in Gemini with the original Turkish prompts; we did not test whether ChatGPT gives the same results.
Technically it can be done, but submitting one as evidence to an insurer, a rental company or the other party is fraud. Under subparagraph (k) of Article 158 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), fraud committed to collect an insurance payout is an aggravated offense, with a minimum prison sentence of four years.
According to decision 2023/924 of Turkey's Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK), a plate can be used to reach the car's owner. Before sharing, cover the plate text with a solid color using Prompt 11 and zoom in to check the result; the "blur" prompt left the plate readable in most frames.
Start with Prompt 1, then change one thing at a time in the same chat: rim color, ride height, scene. Check the plate, the grille and the door every time. If those three haven't changed, the car is still yours.
Real Vehicle Photos for Your Car Dealership
If you run a dealership or a service shop, let's shoot listing and catalog photos that show your vehicles as they really are. In a free first meeting, we'll plan the location, the lighting and the framing that fits listing sites.
